Dr. Khrystyna Holynska, as a native of Ukraine, will address the disastrous war and war crimes being committed by Russia from the Ukrainian perspective. What are the real causes of this war and how will  it end? How can the history and relations between Russia and Ukraine be explained? What are the prospects of achieving peace between the two countries and for the region? What must the U.S. and its  NATO allies do at this time to end the conflict and its tragic consequences on human life and destruction of cities? How can the European Union help to ease the situation and help in the recovery of Ukraine economy and self-determination?

Dr. Holynska holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and is an expert in Research, Analysis and Design stream at the Pardee RAND Graduate School and an Assistant Policy Researcher at RAND Corporation pursuing doctoral studies. She is concurrently a visiting professor in the Public Policy and Governance Department, Kyiv School of Economics, Ukraine. Her research interests and expertise include foreign policy, defense and security policy, Russia and Eastern Europe, as well as civil service and education policy.

Dr. Holynska also holds an MBA and MBAI in business management and artificial intelligence and date analysis from Kyiv School of Economics (KSE). Prior to joining Pardee RAND program, she headed the defense and security policy research startup KSE StratBase and was assistant professor of public policy and governance at KSE. Holynska was also a strategic analyst at The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies, where she focused on Russia’s coercive behavior, nonproliferation, the future of NATO, geodynamics, and Africa’s stability.
