As the U.S. and China — the two most powerful economies of the world — negotiate, navigate and outsmart each other, Rob Goodman has kept busy developing expertise in the culture and trade rarely seen in global settings since he left Corpus Christi! He brings a rare combination of private sector leadership and international engagement experience, with deep expertise in cross border business strategy, stakeholder diplomacy, and building durable partnerships across government, industry, and civic networks. As Vice President of Xenerpower, a Houston-based power equipment manufacturer supporting the rapid expansion of America’s electric infrastructure for the AI-era and manufacturing renaissance, he leads commercial strategy and strategic partnerships, working with customers and stakeholders across Texas and the broader U.S. market at a time when grid reliability, industrial expansion, and domestic capacity are reshaping energy and economic priorities.

Raised with strong ties to Corpus Christi, Rob’s career has been shaped by the region’s role as a gateway for global trade, energy, and advanced manufacturing. From 2014-2018, he was responsible for general business administration and public relations at TEDA TPCO America Corporation, China’s largest greenfield investment in the United States, a $1.2 billion investment in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he supported the organization’s long-term presence and engagement with local stakeholders.

At the University of Texas at Austin’s LBJ School of Public Affairs, Rob led the China Public Policy Center’s business programs. As an inaugural member of the George H. W. Bush Foundation for U.S.-China Relations, Rob served as Director of Business Programs and Corporate Affairs and later as a Fellow, where he helped advance high impact programming and partnerships at the intersection of policy, business, and civic leadership. As Principal Consultant for Dallas Management Consulting, he has advised corporate leadership teams on public policy, market entry, localization, and organizational execution for companies navigating the U.S. and China business environment. He is a former Board of Trustees member  of our organization WACST.

Rob’s career also includes senior leadership roles spanning energy, gaming and technology, including as Chief Business Development Officer for Lyssy Energy Enterprises and Business Transformation Manager of North America and Europe for NetEase Games and Site Manager for TeraHop Photonics. Rob holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s in business administration from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and is certified at the superior-level in Chinese from the University of Mississippi Chinese Language Flagship.
