Seema Mathur Hopkins is an internationally acclaimed filmmaker, journalist and documentarian. Her most recent television documentary, Camp 72, has been received with high praise around the world. This film documents the intense quest for justice and healing after Liberia’s Civil War through the eyes of Gladys who was forced to watch the brutal murder of her mother by rebels and held captive as sex slave for years.
Seema’s extra-ordinary gift of storytelling and her narrative style exploring complex issues of our time serve as themes of her luncheon address. In Camp 72, she follows the troublesome path of a society’s utter destruction and violence from within to offer an unprecedented look at the quest for justice and reconciliation. This is a story of hope and redemption despite the worst of circumstances-a story you don’t want to miss!
