Ukraine and Russia are now in the third year of full-scale war. Neither the unified European Union nor any major power bloc has been unable to stop this conflict. This points to the deep and complex historical forces in play in a troubled region where the two World Wars originated. We are, indeed, witnessing in real time complex developments that catapulted the world into upheavals in the marketplace, uncertainty in global business and volatility in trade even as they shape industries, national economies, and global power structures. Nations are increasingly confronted by shifting loyalty and deep divisions.

Professor Neipert brings to us the expertise to shed light on the historical developments and the geography of Ukraine and the region and how affects memory of the people who live there. He will go into detail of the events that occurred when Ukraine was part of the USSR and how that experience impacts on the psyche of Ukrainians today as they attempt to shape contemporary way of life. Prof. Neipert bring his background in the regulation of international trade and his knowledge of this geographical region to explain and inform us on the understating of the Ukraine-Russia conflict.

Prof. Neipert has taught for 15 years in nine countries including in East European countries of Poland, Estonia and Macedonia and has spoken extensively to peoples who experienced occupation by the USSR. He has travelled extensively in the region as a Fulbright Scholar and lectured in the Eastern Mediterranean region. He earned a JD from the South Texas College of Law, MBA, and BBA from Texas A&M International University in International Trade. He is an expert in international business, trade agreements, international marketing, management, and commercial law. He is the author of two textbooks by Prentice Hall on international law and trade and has published many articles in this area of academic research.
