Drawing from 21 years of military service as a U.S. Navy fighter pilot and diplomat, as well as extensive experience in organizational culture, transformation, and breakthrough performance, Mr. Parish will explore how lessons from high-stakes military operations, global diplomacy, and corporate strategy intersect to shape effective leadership in today’s uncertain world. His remarks will challenge outdated assumptions, expose hidden biases that hinder decision-making, and offer insights on how organizations can break free from limiting perspectives to drive meaningful change.

Having served in U.S. embassies across Europe, Africa, and Latin America, and later as a Congressional Advisor for the U.S. Department of State, Mr. Parish brings firsthand experience navigating complex international challenges. His global perspective, combined with his leadership experience in high-performance environments, provides a compelling lens through which to examine the evolving landscape of business, governance, and strategy.

Whether managing risk, shaping corporate culture, or adapting to geopolitical uncertainty, leaders today must challenge the status quo and embrace new ways of thinking. Mr. Parish will offer a unique perspective on how individuals and organizations can remain resilient, agile, and forward-thinking in an era of constant change.

Mr. Parish is currently a senior consultant with expertise in international management at Insigniam in Arlington, Virginia. Previously, he served as the Director of Defense Co-operation for the U.S. Department of State in Mexico City, Mexico, and garnered vast experience in leadership, stakeholder management and strategic capacity building. He also worked for the U.S. Navy as Deputy Director of Strategy and Planning under the U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command. In Washington DC, Parish advised several Assistant Secretaries on Congressional activities relating to U.S. foreign policy on arms control and non-proliferation. He was also involved in the approval of several key treaties with Russia.

With such an impressive background and expertise, Mr. Parish also served for the U.S. Navy in Freetown, Sierre Leone, Catania, Italy, Monterey, CA, and Virginia Beach, VA. He received a B.S. in history and minor in Spanish from the U.S. Naval Academy, M.A. in National Security Studies from the US Naval Postgraduate School and post-graduate studies at Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business. Mr. Parish’s favorite idiom is: “In an unpredictable world, those who rethink the way they lead will define the future.”
