Armida Riojas is the Assistant Vice President, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas in the San Antonio Branch. Ms. Riojas is responsible for a comprehensive range of outreach activities that strengthen connections with district stakeholders across the state of Texas and parts of Louisiana and New Mexico. In addition to overseeing the Communications and Outreach team in San Antonio, she is responsible for branch administrative functions. The Federal Reserve Bank’s work influences not only the American economy but the entire world.

Armida will present an overview of the Federal Reserve Bank and will address the role and responsibility of the bank as the vital nerve center of the U.S. economy. What precisely is the role of the bank in curbing inflation, monitoring the country’s economy, and stabilizing the world’s most powerful economy? What factors influence such a crucial role in improving the lives of the U.S. population? How do the policies of the bank impact the businesses, industry, and financial institutions of the U.S. and, yes, across the world?

Armida serves on the board of Jump$tart Coalition of Texas, an organization that focuses on financial literacy and the importance of effective financial education.  She is a member of Leadership Women’s Leadership Texas program, an alumnus of Leadership Texas’ Pipeline program, and a member of the International Association of Business Communicators. She holds an MA in economics from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a BS in Economics from Baylor University.
