Landon Van Dyke joined the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) in October 2006 and serves as the Associate Director of International Affairs and Climate Change. In this capacity he is an advisor to the Council Chair and is responsible for environmental and energy policy development as they relate to U.S. international relations. Mr. Van Dyke’s portfolio includes overseeing U.S. government activities in Asia related to environmental protection, energy security, international trade, and climate change. In addition he serves as council advisor for the Major Economies Forum and the Asia-Pacific Partnership for Clean Development and Climate, Council Deputy for the U.S.-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue, and Council Interlocutor for multilateral activities, including the G8, APEC, ASEAN, IEA, OECD and the WTO. Prior to joining CEQ, Mr. Van Dyke served as the Financial/Economic China Desk Officer for the U.S. State Department.
Mr. Van Dyke holds a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Central Michigan University, a MBA from the Haworth College of Business at Western Michigan University and a MA in Asian Studies from the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University. Mr. Van Dyke was previously a Managing Senior Associate at Pacific Bridge, Inc., served as a business Adjunct Professor at Western Michigan University and has worked in China for several years serving as a business consultant and instructor.
